SAGE Journals Online: Alerts Help

From the My Alert Summary & Preferences page, you may edit your existing alerts, create new alerts, or modify your alerts preferences. This page will display your alerts information for a specific journal only. To view your alerts across all SAGE Journals, click Manage Content Alerts for all SAGE Publications Journals.

My Content Alerts
Content Alerts provide the option to receive the following types of email alerts:

  • Table of Contents – a notification when a new issue of a journal is posted, including the complete Table of Contents for that issue with links to content
  • Table of Contents (TOC) Awareness – a notification when a new issue of a journal is posted, with a link to view the Table of Contents online
  • Announcements – announcements from SAGE Publications relating to a specific journal
  • OnlineFirst – notification when new OnlineFirst content is posted for a journal

If you have previously elected to receive Content Alerts for this journal, you will see a listing of those alerts on this page. If you would like to add new Content Alerts or to modify your existing choices, follow Add/Edit/Delete Content Alerts to make the necessary adjustments.

My CiteTrack Alerts
CiteTrack Alerts allow you to create alerts to be notified when new content is posted that matches your search criteria, when a correction is posted for an article you specify, or when an article of interest is cited. This page will list all existing alerts with the alert name (as specified when the alert was created) and a summary of the alert criteria.

Click on the alert name to edit or delete a listed alert. New CiteTrack Alerts may be added in the following ways:

  • Citation Alert – from the Content Box in an article view, click Alert me when this article is cited
  • Correction Alert – from the Content Box in an article view, click Alert me if a correction is posted
  • Search Alert – click Create a new Search Alert to establish the search criteria for a new alert or click Save as an alert from the Search History page

When you create an alert using My Favorite Journals, the alert covers your current My Favorite Journals selections only. If you modify your My Favorite Journals selections later, your changes will not be reflected in any previously saved alert. Similarly, alerts created using SAGE Content Available to Me will not reflect any changes to those included journals.

My Email Alert Preferences
Follow the modify link to view or change your alert preferences, including the alert format (HTML or plain text), the number of results to receive in each Search alert (you will be linked to the site to view additional results), and the frequency of notifications (every time the alert is run or every time results are found).
